Hi, I’m Marty Fay (the owner) and I would like to introduce you to Motor Works. We are family owned, and have been bringing honest, courteous, quality auto repair to DeKalb County since 1984. Motor Works provides complete repair services for domestic, import and classic cars and trucks. Our staff is award winning and college degreed. They constantly attend school to update their skills.
Marty Fay won the prestigious Chicago Division NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year Award in 1985, 1986 and 1988.
Mark Huff (Head Technician) won the same award in 2012.
We know of no other shop to have two Technician of the Year Divisional Award Winners.
Three technicians on Motor Works’ staff are ASE Master Certified: Marty Fay, Mark Huff and Joe Moberg.
Each staff technician attends approximately 60 hours of training yearly from two of the nation’s top instructors; John Thornton and Louis Nelson. Humorous note: Marty Fay’s first class with John Thornton was a GM Fuel Injection class at Triton College in 1981.
Marty Fay, Mark Huff and Leslie Piatt (our service writer) have served on Kiswaukee College’s Advisory Counsel.
Leslie Piatt was a guest speaker at Kiswaukee College’s Divas In Motion Automotive Seminar for Women.
Marty Fay served on Kiswaukee College’s Automotive NATEF Certification Board.
Motor Works’ has also made a huge financial investment to obtain the latest in test and service equipment. Nothing less will do when working on today’s complex vehicles. We have six computer scanners and scopes, each costing between $6,000 and $10,000.
Our service facility has doubled in size three times since 1984. During that time, Motor Works has become a:

To find out more, I enthusiastically invite you to our National Award Winning Website at www.motorw.com.
To close, I want to say that despite all the credentials and hoopla above, we at Motor Works remain aware that things are financially tough out there. We are inventive in finding ways to keep costs down. Our customers find value when they enter our door. Yes, were busy but there’s always room for one more. We hope to see you soon.
