Do not be afraid to ask what it will cost for a repair or maintenance. It is always a good idea to ask around or check online to see if you are being properly charged. Keep in mind that pricing will vary from shop to shop. Some shops might have higher prices for better quality products, but anything 20%-30% more is a red flag!
Do not make impulsive decisions. Listen carefully to the recommendations the mechanic/technician is making. Be sure search online and ask questions before moving forward with recommended repairs.
When choosing your auto care shop, insure that they have the proper certifications. This ensures the employees are knowledgeable about the up-to-date automotive industry. It is also important to check that the technicians/mechanics working on your vehicle are certified by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
